Long before the term "building green" entered our vocabulary, we at Fifth Avenue Communities believed in environmental stewardship. That's why for many years we've been committed to doing our part to reduce the impact that building has on both people and nature...and it's why we build homes and buildings that are healthier for their occupants and healthier for the environment.  Simply stated, we incorporate green building practices into every home and building we build, and we've been doing it for years.

Our homes and buildings meet the Energy Star guidelines as set by the Environmental Protection agency, which means that they include energy-efficient features which typically make them 20% to 30% more efficient than conventionally-built homes and buildings.  These features include higher-rated insulation, high-performance windows, tight construction to help control drafts and moisture, efficient heating and cooling equipment, and Energy Star rated products such as appliances, light fixtures and plumbing fixtures which minimize water consumption.  While these features mean long term savings for our clients, they also support better indoor air quality, making our homes healthier their for their occupants.

Not only do we include energy-saving features, we also use recycled or sustainable building materials whenever possible.  And the homes and buildings we build are designed to harmonize with the surrounding landscape and to preserve and protect as much natural habitat and vegetation as possible.
